The First Vision—Seeing through the veil with the "eyes of our understanding."

(NOTE: This rough draft will be part of the book, Joe, Me, and the Real Illuminati®.)

It's no secret that there is a lot of controversy surrounding the different versions that Joe gave of what is known as the First Vision.

Many have lost their testimony of Mormonism because of the controversy; but losing your testimony of Mormonism isn't such a bad thing.

Gaining a testimony of Real Truth® is a good thing.

When the Real Illuminati® (RI) used me to help them write and publish Joe's "Authorized and Official" biography in 2012, I was a bit perplexed, as well as disconcerted (unsettled), as to why we had to include yet more deception about what really happened during Joe's life. Published in 2011, the biography was meant to present a closer picture of what really happened during Joseph Smith's life, compared to the two very different versions presented by the Mormons and anti-Mormons. Although the information was presented timely and with the intent to open up a person's mind to a different perception than what the two camps (pro and con) were reporting, it still wasn't the complete picture of Real Truth®.

It was 2012, when they finally let me explain the Real Truth® about advanced humans and life upon Earth being a dream sequence of life experience occurring in the mind of an advanced human's True Self. Although they had published a book about their 1842 play (LDS temple endowment presentation), Sacred Not Secret, five years before, they did not allow me to reveal too much at that time either.

Keep in mind, it wasn't until 2016 that they finally allowed me to reveal the true nature of the true Christ, of the true Jehovah, of the true Judge and Lawgiver associated with human existence—your conscience that tells you what is good and what is bad—the Spirit of Christ. They touched upon this Real Truth® about Christ in their new American scripture, the Book of Mormon:

"For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God. (See Moroni 7:16.)

It's difficult for a person to accept that the only judge about whether their mortal deeds were good or evil, once their mortal life is over and they return to the only true god, is themselves ... their advanced higher Self ... the Michael of their Adam (according to the way it is presented in the temple endowment ceremony).

I lost a lot of followers in 2012, when I announced that we would return to being our advanced True Self upon death, and that our mortal identity would mean nothing more to our True Self than adding to the experiences of one of our many mortal incarnates on Earth.

Geez Louise! Even this should make perfect sense!

If we lived and were conscious BEFORE we entered life upon Earth, then we obviously will be the same person AFTER we die.

People are very saddened by the thought that none of their mortal relationships really mean anything in an overall eternal view of things. And LDS/Mormons who go to their temples all the time and view their 1842 play, should know this Real Truth® better than anyone else.

In the temple endowment presentation, as it was given right before their own eyes, the god Michael is put to sleep and dreams of being Adam (with Eve taken out of him as a part of him, not her own person). Then, after his mortal life, Adam is reawakened as the god Michael, whom he has always been ... worlds without end.

Unfortunately for the deceived and blind, this discounts the LDS/Mormon idea of the eternal family unit; and this is what scares people and makes them unhappy.

When I was finally allowed to reveal the true nature of the true Christ ... oh my, followers left in droves. I became a fallen prophet. Many believed that The Sealed Portion of the gold plates (from which the Book of Mormon was written) remained true, but that I had transgressed and fallen from God's grace as His prophet and spokesperson ... EXACTLY how it happened to Joe, according to many of his original followers and friends!

Consider this:

In 1836, a couple of years before Joe gave an "Authorized and Official" explanation of what he actually experienced as a fourteen-year-old boy (the "First Vision"), Joe wrote that he and Oliver Cowdery saw:

"the Lord standing upon the breastwork of the pulpit, before us; ... and Moses appeared before us, ... Elias appeared, ... Elijah the prophet, who was taken to heaven without tasting death, stood before us." (See Doctrine and Covenants, Section 110.)

When Joe revealed and explained these "visitations," he was completely honest.

Joe did not claim that he and Oliver actually saw these heavenly beings with their physical eyes. Both men explained that the experience came from "the eyes of our understanding":

"The veil was taken from our minds, and the eyes of our understanding were opened." (Doctrine and Covenants 76:1.)

This honesty was consistent with all of the "visions" that Joe reported to his followers.

A few years before Joe and Oliver Cowdery "saw" these mentioned heavenly beings, Joe told the truth about he and Sidney Rigdon having their "eyes opened and our understandings were enlightened, so as to see and understand the things of God":

"We, Joseph Smith, Jun., and Sidney Rigdon, being in the Spirit on the sixteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two—By the power of the Spirit our eyes were opened and our understandings were enlightened, so as to see and understand the things of God." (Doctrine and Covenants 76:1.)

Since the publication of the Book of Mormon (1830), a lot of people wanted to know how Joe got called to the task ... by God.

Joe was reluctant to say anything about the Real Illuminati® (hmmm... the Three Nephites and John the Beloved).

Who would have believed him?

Furthermore, had he mentioned other people being involved, his enemies would have been more vigilant and aggressive in finding out who these other people were. For the sake of the work that the RI were doing behind the scenes, Joe was told never to reveal their actual existence or what really happened when he was called to the task of writing and publishing the Book of Mormon.

So ... Joe made up a story to explain how he had been called to the task.

His story changed a couple of times over the years.

And when his followers wouldn't leave him alone and kept pestering him to explain exactly what happened in detail, especially when they kept getting different accounts, Joe was finally mandated to write up an "Authorized and Official" story of the First Vision.

Well, actually, Joe didn't write it. The RI wrote it for him.

To my chagrin ... and with the heavy "Sigh" that often follows ...They also wrote an "Authorized and Official" story for me. (See The Sealed Portion, Appendix 1, beginning on page 577.)

Current LDS/Mormon history tells a narrative that fits well with Brigham Young's version of events, according to the needs and beliefs of Young's LDS church—the history that is accepted as official Church History.

The LDS/Mormon account of how Oliver Cowdery, David Whitmer, Martin Harris (the Three Witnesses to the Book of Mormon), along with a few other prominent early Mormon leaders (some of whom were part of the Nine Witnesses to the Book of Mormon), were excommunicated and began to harass and call Joe a fallen prophet, pretty much follows the lines of anti-Mormon historic narratives.

Both the Mormons and their critics place the initial blame for these prominent leaders leaving Joe on Joe's involvement with the Kirtland Safety Society, an early Mormon bank that printed its own money.

Nothing could be further from the real truth.

If Oliver Cowdery actually saw the Lord, Moses, Elias, and Elijah with his own eyes, as well as the gold plates from which the Book of Mormon was taken, a bank failure was not going to convince him that Joe was a fallen prophet of God.

But lies and contradictions would.

Above, I mentioned that the people were pestering Joe to stop changing his story and to give them the truth about what happened when he was a boy, and God first contacted him.

In 1837, under the direction of our mentors, Joe continued the process of delivering

"unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may stumble." (Book of Mormon, Jacob 4:14.)

Joe had written the version the RI wanted him to give as his "Authorized and Official" story of the First Vision. Joe allowed his closest friends and supporters to review it. Oh, my! That didn't go too well.

How could Joe have seen both the Father and the Son in a vision, when the Book of Mormon specifically stated that these two were one and the same?

"I would that ye should understand that God himself shall come down among the children of men, and shall redeem his people. And because he dwelleth in flesh he shall be called the Son of God, and having subjected the flesh to the will of the Father, being the Father and the Son—The Father, because he was conceived by the power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the Father and Son—And they are one God, yea, the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth." (BOM, Mosiah 15:1-4.)

Furthermore, about the same time, Joe was also being pestered about what the "keys of the gathering of Israel meant." These were given to him and Oliver Cowdery during the vision mentioned above. (See D&C 110:11.)

Along with the "keys of the gathering" given to them by Moses, Joe and Oliver also reported they received the "keys of the dispensation of the gospel of Abraham" from Elijah. (See D&C 110:12, 16.)

Joe knew what these "keys" actually meant. And he explained the idea of "keys" on many occasions.

Joe explained his use of the term to mean: this is the key to understanding the issue.

Joe tried to explain what it actually meant to "gather Israel."

Joe tried his hardest to give "the key to understanding the issue" of

"turn[ing] the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."(Malachi 4:6)

No matter how hard he tried to speak with words of plainness, his followers continually "sought for things that they could not understand." (BOM, Jacob 4:14.)

Joe explained that the "gathering of Israel" was not literal, but symbolic.

He explained that it was a spiritual awakening, a gathering of thoughts and feelings that would unite the world as "one heart and one mind."

Joe knew there was no real significance to Jerusalem, Israel, because he had already given the world the Book of Mormon that explained a "New Jerusalem" was prophesied to be established in the United States.

In his efforts to explain the real truth of all things, the people became angry and wouldn't accept a contradiction of their religious traditions and beliefs.

Another example of this, consistent with what I explained above, is that the people were convinced that baptism for the dead was what the book of Malachi meant by the

"turning the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, lest the whole earth be smitten with a curse." (Malachi 4:6.)

Joe tried to explain to the people that the book of Malachi wasn't translated correctly, and that the original Greek translation said that the people had turned away from "the law and the statutes and judgments of their fathers." He also tried to explain that Elijah would do something in the future to turn people back to "the law and the statutes and judgments of their fathers," meaning the "fullness of the everlasting gospel."

Joe tried to explain that the Book of Mormon was the "key to understanding" what "turning the hearts of the children to their fathers" actually meant. Joe explained that "the fulness of the everlasting Gospel was contained in [the Book of Mormon], as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants." (See Pearl of Great Price, JSH 1:34.)

The early Mormons couldn't accept this as the complete understanding of these "keys." They wanted these "keys" to have more significance. The men, who held the priesthood authority, wanted the "keys" they received to be of more importance. They, in their "stiffneckedness" and their pride and ego, wanted the "keys of the priesthood" to mean more than just an understanding of the mysteries of God.

So, instead of accepting what Joe told them in plainness, the priesthood-bearing brethren began to argue with him and berate him. They wanted their priesthood power to mean something more, something that would help God.

Sydney Rigdon convinced Joe to let the people get baptized for their dead relatives, who weren't Mormons and didn't receive the right baptism before the true church had been restored upon Earth. Rigdon convinced Joe that this was consistent with what the New Testament said in Hebrews 11:40:

"God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect."

What Rigdon forgot was that Joe had corrected Hebrews 11:40, years before he was mandated by the RI to retranslate the New Testament.

Joe made the correction so that it fit in context with the preceding verses of Hebrews 11:37–40:

"They were stoned; they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword; they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented, Of whom the world was not worthy; they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens, and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promises, God having provided some better things for them through their sufferings; for without sufferings they could not be made perfect." ( JST Hebrews 11:37–40; emphasis added.)

Joe lost again to the people's pride and arrogance.

He gave them what they wanted.

He introduced the ordinance of baptism for the dead ... so they would stumble. (See BOM, Jacob 4:14.)

When Joe did this, Oliver Cowdery was livid ... no, he was angrier than hell! Hell hath no fury like Cowdery felt when Joe let the people start baptizing for the dead.

Cowdery was present when the "eyes of their understanding were opened" and they were given the "keys to understand" what "turning hearts" meant. And nothing they discussed that day, when the "veil was lifted," had anything to do with genealogy and baptism for the dead.

In fact, genealogy work was condemned in the Book of Mormon. (See 1 Nephi, chapter 6.)

At the same time Joe was getting ready to publish the official story about the First Vision, he was allowing the "keys" of priesthood authority to become an actuality, instead of what they really were supposed to be—keys of understanding, "to have the privilege of receiving the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven." (See D&C 107:18–19.)

When Joe did this, David Whitmer was livid ... no, he was angrier than hell! Hell hath no fury like Whitmer felt when Joe let the people start believing that priesthood authority and keys were actual things.

These things, along with Joe's "Authorized and Official" version of the First Vision, turned these prominent and important original supporters and leaders completely against Joe.

It wasn't Joe's fault. He was doing exactly what he was instructed to do by the RI.

Again, and again:

But behold, the early Latter-day Saints (Mormons) were a stiffnecked people; and they despised the words of plainness that Joe spoke to them, and they would have risen up and killed Joe had he not given them what they wanted. They sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their blindness, which blindness came by looking beyond the mark, they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it, the Real Illuminati® commanded Joe to do it, that they may stumble. (Compare Book of Mormon, Jacob 4:14.)

And, oh my! How the LDS/Mormon do stumble!

They send out tens of thousands of missionaries to deceive the world, by reading Hebrews 11:40 in an attempt to convince people that baptism for the dead is a necessary saving ordinance that must be done only in a Mormon temple.

They reason that because God has provided some better thing for Mormons to do, that those who are not baptized with the right baptism should not be made perfect, and the hearts of the fathers cannot be turned to the children, and the children to the fathers. Therefore, Mormon missionaries deceptively teach that unbaptized people without the LDS/Mormon Church cannot be made perfect.

Little do they know that they spit in Joe's face and completely discount everything he did in plainness.

On April 6, 1820, Joe's young mind was illuminated.

Mine was illuminated on June 16, 1987.

At that time,

"the veil was taken from our minds, and the eyes of our understanding were opened" (Doctrine and Covenants 110:1.)

and we received the "keys of the mysteries of God."

All the mysteries were revealed to Joe and me,

"yea, all the hidden mysteries of my kingdom from days of old, and for ages to come, will I make known unto them the good pleasure of my will concerning all things pertaining to my kingdom. Yea, even the wonders of eternity shall they know, and things to come will I show them, even the things of many generations." (Doctrine and Covenants 76:7–8.)

And our wisdom became great, and our understanding reached to heaven; and before us the wisdom of the wise shall perish, and the understanding of the prudent shall come to naught.

For by the Spirit of our True Selves we were enlightened (illuminated), and by the power of the "Spirit of Truth." The [true Lord] made known unto us the secrets of his will—yea, even those things which eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor yet entered into the heart of man. (Compare Doctrine and Covenants, Section 76.)

Joe and I were illuminated with the Real Truth®. We learned to do what the true GOD of light and truth told us to do.

This was our true First Vision.

We have had no other.

The true GOD of light and truth is the Real Illuminati®.

It has always been just Joe, Me, and the Real Illuminati®.
